Tever Nickerson, LPC
Are you tired of having the same argument? Do you feel like you and your partner just can’t communicate? Are you wanting more emotional connection with your partner?
When couples argue, the arguments are usually a kind of protest from one partner about not feeling connected, not trusting, or not feeling safe or secure with the other partner. When you are lost in negative cycles and patterns with each other, it may feel like the fights will never be resolved.
In emotion-focused couples therapy, we work on changing the negative cycles in a non-judgmental environment. I strive to build a “safe haven” for you to express your needs to feel close and understood.
Whether you are just in the beginning of your relationship, or have been together for many years, couples counseling can help you communicate more effectively and feel you are better able to solve problems together.
I am an advanced trainee in Emotionally Focused Couples therapy (EFT-C) and help couples struggling with a number of different issues.
