Tever Nickerson, LPC
Each and every one of us has a story to tell. In large part, my curiosity about people’s stories led me to become a therapist.
I am deeply interested in how people interact and their experiences. Working to help people strengthen their relationships by feeling a greater sense of confidence and security is - for me - the most meaningful work imaginable.
I have advance training as an emotion-focused therapist and bring this approach to all of my work with individuals and couples.
I am often spontaneous, gently confronting and employ creative interventions tailored to the needs of my clients.
I work toward the belief that feeling understood and feeling meaningfully connected are fundamental qualities for well-being.
I hold B.A. in Sociology from Willamette University.
I earned my Master's degree in Counseling with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from Portland State University.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Oregon, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and recognized as a Qualified Mental Health Professional. I adhere to the Code of Ethics established by the American Association of Counseling and the Oregon Board of Counselors and Therapists.
Advanced trainee in emotion-focused couple therapy (EFT-C) in association with the International Centre for Excellence in Emotion-Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) and the Oregon Community for Emotion-Focused Therapy (OCEFT)
